Studying Users' Interaction Behaviors with Social Media Algorithmic Curation

The purpose of this study is to learn how adults with depression or anxiety use TikTok in different situations and how their surroundings and emotions may affect their use. Participants will complete surveys, use an Android study app for 2 weeks, and share their TikTok data at the end of the study. What we learn may help guide the design of social media tools that better support mental well-being.
Sex: Male or Female
Age Group: 18 years and over
Inclusion Criteria:
• age 18 or older and live in the United States
• use TikTok every day and use an Android phone
• self-identify as having depression or anxiety
