Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Acute Pancreatitis - Associated Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency: the PERT-AP Trial

The purpose of this study is to learn whether CREON, a pancreatic enzyme replacement treatment, can improve symptoms in adults who develop exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) after acute pancreatitis. What we learn may help improve treatment for people who develop EPI after acute pancreatitis.

Sex: Male or Female
Age Group: 18 years and over
This study is NOT accepting healthy volunteers
Inclusion Criteria:

• age 18 or older
• have exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) following an episode of acute pancreatitis within the past 12 months
• weigh between 40 and 120 kg (approximatley 88 to 265 pounds)

Exclusion Criteria:

• have chronic pancreatitis or have had prior pancreatic surgery
• have pancreatic cancer or another active caner requiring treatment
• are pregnant or breastfeeding
