COgnitive STrategies in Early Psychosis 2

This study looks at decision-making and brain function in people with psychosis spectrum disorders, such as schizophrenia. By joining this study, you can help us better understand how the brain makes decisions in psychosis. What we learn may help guide better treatments for people with psychosis in the future.
Sex: Male or Female
Age Group: 18 years and over
Inclusion Criteria:
• between 18 and 35 years old
• diagnosis of a psychosis-related condition, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, psychosis NOS, bipolar disorder with psychosis, or major depressive disorder with psychosis, within the past 5 years
• taking stable psychiatric medications with no major medication changes within the past month

Exclusion Criteria:
• have a serious medical, neurological, heart, kidney, or liver condition that could make participation unsafe
• are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
• take certain medications or supplements that may not be safe with the study medication, or have had a serious reaction to modafinil or another medication
• have a recent serious alcohol or substance use problem, a history of stimulant use disorder, or current concerns about suicide risk
